The High Commission of India does not accept Visa Applications except from Diplomatic/Official passport holders at its premises and therefore Visa applications should be submitted at the 5 Visa Application Collection Centers appointed by the High Commission.

$9/- per application would be charged by Visa Application Center as service charges in addition to prescribed visa fees. All Singaporean nationals, except diplomatic and official passport holders, require a visa to travel to India

1.  A Visa for Singaporean nationals is issued in 2 working days. 

2.  However, visa application processing for a non-Singaporean applicant who is a PR, Student,  SVP or working on EP/WP or a dependant, requires a minimum of five working days. 

3.  A non-Singaporean, who is not-resident in Singapore should obtain a visa for India from the country of their normal residence or country of origin.

4. The High Commission accepts the applications of Diplomatic/Official passport holders directly at its premises.

Tourist Visa-on-Arrival

TOURIST VISA ON ARRIVAL (T-VoA) SCHEME
The Government of India has announced a scheme of granting Tourist Visa on Arrival for the citizens of Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Philippines, Myanmar and Indonesia in addition to the existing scheme for citizens of  Finland, Japan, Luxembourg, New Zealand  and Singapore.

The scheme is valid for citizens of the above mentioned countries planning to visit India on single entry strictly for the purpose of tourism and for a short period of up to a maximum of 30 days. The salient features of the scheme are given below:

WHO IS ELIGIBLE:
-Citizens with valid passports of the following countries:
Finland
Japan
Luxembourg
New Zealand
Singapore
Cambodia,
 Laos,
Vietnam,
 Philippines
Myanmar
 Indonesia

- Visiting India for the purpose of tourism (recreation, sight seeing, visiting friends and relatives)
- Fulfills all other criteria for grant of normal tourist visa to India like assured financial standing (production of return ticket and proof of availability of sufficient funds to spend in India), passport of at least six month validity and re-entry permit if required.

WHO IS NOT ELIGIBLE:
-A  citizen of the any of the above countries who was or whose parents or grand parents (paternal or maternal) were born in, and were permanently resident in Pakistan.
- Persons holding Diplomatic/ Official passports
- A person who is a resident of India and /or works in India
- A person who is declared persona non grata by Government of India and is not the subject of a black list or any warning circular or other restrictive list.

VALIDITY
The Visa on Arrival is valid for a single entry into India for a period of upto 30 (thirty) days.This Visa is non-extendable and non-convertible and will be issued at arrival only at the designated international airports of Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata. Only two visits on a Tourist Visa-on-Arrival shall be permissible in a calendar year and there shall be a gap of at least two months between each visit.

FEE
The fee for the visa on arrival is USD 60 (Sixty United States Dollars) or equivalent amount in Indian Rupees per passenger (including children).

It may be noted that the Visa on Arrival scheme is only a facility for citizens of the above-named countries who are unable to apply for a visa at the designated Indian Missions due to some reasons.  The concerned mission  will issue visa based on the prevailing rules and conditions.  For further clarifications, please contact the nearest Indian Mission.

BASIC INFORMATION W.R.T DIFFERENT CATEGORIES OF VISAS:

Tourist Visa – The validity of a tourist visa cannot be extended.  Visitors to India holding multiple entry visas are advised that they must keep a gap of two- months between an exit from India and re-entry thereafter.  In the event that travel to India is necessary within the two- months period of the last departure from India, the High Commission should be approached for special permission in this regard.

Transit Visa -Valid for direct transit only. Proof of confirmed reservations for onward journey from India should be submitted along with the visa application and one coloured photograph.

Business Visa -It is the endeavour of the High Commission to ensure that Singapore nationals applying for business visas are issued visas on the same day. They should apply to the Visa Application Centres as indicated in the website.

LONG TERM BUSINESS VISA

Applicants who have been issued Business visas in the last two years by HCI Singapore may apply for long term Business visas. This is not applicable for prior-approval-category countries.

Student Visa -This is issued for the duration of the course for those students who want to persue regular academic course in India. The students should submit proof of admission to an educational institution recognized by the Government of India.

Conference Visa – It is  issued for attending conferences/seminar/meetings in India. A letter of invitation from the organizer of the conference is to be submitted along with the visa application besides copies of various clearances obtained from the Government of India. Delegates coming to attend conferences may combine tourism with attending conference.

Employment Visa – It is  issued to skilled and qualified professionals or persons who are engaged or appointed by companies, organizations, economic undertakings as technicians, technical experts, senior executives etc. Applicants are required to submit proof of contract/employment/engagement of foreign nationals by the company or organizations besides a copy of their qualification certificate.

Medical Visa -It is issued for specialised medical treatment in India. The application for medical visa should be submitted with medical advice to go to India for specialised medical treatment.

Transfer of Visa -Submit duly filled up and signed visa application form with old and new passport. If visa is issued in Singapore, transfer of visa, from old passport to new passport is issued against payment of S$10/- on next working day. If visa is issued by Indian Mission abroad, processing time is 5 working days and fee charged is S$20 for fax and S$10 for transfer. In case of US national, fee charged is S$ 20 for fax plus S$ 50 for transfer.

General Information


1.  The maximum duration of stay in India, for each visit on a tourist visa is six months. A Tourist Visa is non-extendable.

2.  Passport must be valid for more than six months with at least two blank pages at the time of  submission of application.

3.  Validity of all visas is counted from the date of their issue.

4.   If the visa is valid for a stay of more than 180 days, registration with FRRO is compulsory within 14 days of first arrival in India for all visas other than Business visas.
