The passport application form should be submitted by the applicant personally together with the Indian Passport, one coloured photograph, a copy of Singapore NRIC (Original to be produced for verification) and the relevant passport fee.
A copy of the police report should also be submitted in case one is applying for a replacement passport in lieu of a passport that has been lost or damaged.
Tourists who have lost or damaged their passport could be considered for an emergency certificate (EC). An EC is a one-way travel document valid only for one return trip back to India and is issued after the High Commission is satisfied as regard Indian nationality. Once back in India, the applicant may approach the office which had issued the original passport for issuing a duplicate passport on production of the EC.
As and when an Indian National obtains a foreign nationality, he/she is not entitled to retain his/her Indian Passport and has to surrender his/her passport for cancellation.
This is also applicable for children even though Singapore allows retention of Indian Passport after acquisition of Singapore Nationality.
